The update

The proclamation applies to imports from every country and stacks on the ordinary duty. Buses and other vehicles classified in HTS heading 8702 pay 10%; medium and heavy-duty vehicles and the listed parts pay 25%.

USMCA-qualifying trucks can pay the tariff only on their non-U.S. content through a Commerce process covered separately on this tracker.

Impact

Fleet buyers, upfitters and parts distributors pay 25% of customs value on covered trucks and parts. For buses the rate is 10%.

What to watch

The parts list is set by HTS line. Passenger cars and light trucks fall under the separate auto action, not this one.

How to prepare

  1. 1
Classify trucks and parts against the annex

Only listed parts pay the 25 percent.

  2. 2
Use the USMCA content process for North American trucks

Approved models pay only on non-U.S. content.
